It wasn’t even 6:00 a.m. PT before the Carson Daly-hosted The Voice scored a nomination for Outstanding Reality Competition Program for this year’s Emmys.
Usher has scored No. 1 songs and albums, plus sold-out tours across the world. But before Tuesday, one trophy was missing from his mantle: a team win on The Voice.
The funky track has Usher proclaiming his love for one particular girl’s kisses, singing, “Don’t nobody kiss it like you.” Yeah, this girl’s pretty good.
“We’re very happy to officially announce that two superstars will be joining the next season in these coaches’ chairs: Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani will be added to the Voice family,” Carson Daly announced.
The Voice will be adding more star power to its judges panel, according to a report by Us Weekly.
Usher filled in on CeeLo’s chair for a season previously, but Pharrell is stepping in to keep it warm — at least for season 7.
“I’m going to continue my relationship with NBC. I have a television show development deal with them as well and some other talk show opportunities. I’m going to miss The Voice too, I’m not coming back, guys.”
Ryan Tedder is joining The Voice as the show’s first ever in-house producer and songwriter.
