Ed Sheeran is probably the most affable pop star on the planet. Possibly in the history of pop music.
“This isn’t about us going back to our musical roots per se,” said lead singer Marc Roberge. “It’s about us getting inspired by the place we came from. We’d drive the same roads, visit the old haunts, spend time with our people. Rockville was the catalyst then, and it’s the catalyst now.”
“My first album was written when I was 19-years-old. I wanted to be sure this album was far different from that one, to make sure that the growth was present.”
“We’ve always been walking that fine line and dancing between John Mayer and Fall Out Boy,” Slade said.
“Sometimes adding to a song like that just takes away. What you really want to do is suck the listener in to only hear the story and the vocal,” Tim Lopez said.
“The songs are very much what I do lyrically and melodically. It’s real and authentic. This is where I am right now.”
“We didn’t want to write songs anymore that were just like a boy band recording songs. We wanted to be able to feel these songs. That’s how the best songs come out. It’s all emotional, it’s feeling,” Nick Carter said.
