Start the new year off with a better diet! Here are six tips to skip the junk. Carolyn says the key is to try to take at least some of these ideas to start and continue to implement them.
Her additional quick tip? “If it’s a plant eat it, but if it comes from a ‘plant’ [factory], don’t!”
1. Avoid packaged snacks
They offer very little nutritional value and do very little to satisfy you. Be selective. Look at ingredients.
2. Switch to naturally raised animals
Others are packed with hormones because they want those chickens growing fast and large.
3. Replace pastas, rices, and other refined grains with vegetables
Think cauliflower rice, cauliflower potatoes, cauliflower pizza crust, spaghetti squash, etc.
4. Avoid vegetable oils and spreads
They extract oils from the seeds using chemicals and it’s very highly processed. Stick to your coconut and olive oils.
5. Make your water or detox drink your beverage of choice
Add lemon or apple cider vinegar.
6. Steer clear of sugar in every form
Look for coatings or sugar added.
