You probably know by now that Nick Fradiani was the big winner of American Idol Season 14. But were you even aware of these (mostly made-up) facts about Guilford’s favorite son?
Nick Fradiani is from Guilford, a town that welcomes you with a sign that reads “Home of the 3A Volleyball Champions” and– in very small font underneath– “and Nick Fradiani.”
There’s a guy named Bill, who offers celebrity home tours around Guilford. The only stop is at the Fradiani household, because Nick is the only famous person in Guilford.
A long time ago, Nick worked at Staples in Guilford, which is where Damon first met him. Nick recognized Damon right away, and said his dream was to be one of those artists you play over and over and over again on the radio until you can’t take it anymore. Nick just needed to get a little taller, a little more handsome, and start singing. Nick went up to his manager and quit that day, and the rest is history.
Nick’s Wikipedia picture is him dressed as a motivational speaker from Fresno. The look immediately screams “What if I told you for $100 down, you could sell real estate, and make a fortune? Hello, my name is Nick Fradiani.”
Contrary to popular knowledge, Nick has his own version of Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” which brought Damon to tears when he first heard it. “We thought about maybe doing it today, but we were a little worried there would be a group of Meghan Trainor fans who find out by me saying it and then singing her song. That’s probably gonna be a let down, they’re probably gonna start crying. You don’t wanna go out that way.”
Know what Nick’s fanbase is called? His immediate family.
“Tomorrow I’m gonna look at my Wikipedia page, and it’s gonna be a totally different biography of me.” -Nick Fradiani.
