This week sees the release of the new Amazing Spider-Man 2 and some more flicks for your scary movie fans and more. Get the whole scoop from our movie expert Sam hatch!
Amazing Spider-Man 2
Sam didn’t expect to like the Amazing Spider-Man reboot a few years ago, but had a lot of fun with it… But this sequel never fires on all thrusters, even with a great cast including Jaime Foxx and Paul Giamatti. It’s certainly a mixed bag, and a LONG one, clocking in at over 140 minutes.
The Quiet Ones
A group of kids decide to create a poltergeist from the spirit of a dead woman, and things go really wrong in this horror story.
Ti West, a director who has been making horror movies in Torrington, CT (including his great The Inkeepers) is back with a brand new one called The Sacrament, featuring some reporters on an ill-fated trip to South America.
Only Lovers Left Alive
This vampire movie is from Jim Jarmusch, an indie movie darling… so be wary if you go in expecting something like Twilight. Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton star as some super cool vampires.
A Good Man
Steven Seagal is off the grid– he used to be a Special Ops guy, but now he’s a handyman at an apartment complex. When Russian gangster show up to mess with one of his tenants, he has to start killing guys.
A Brony Tale
This documentary is about “Bros” (dudes) who love My Little Pony. There’s so many of them, there’s even a Brony convention! And this movie covers everything.
