Sam Hatch’s DVD Picks For The Week: Muppets Most Wanted & More

It’s the movie freak and the movie geek– Find out what to buy, what to rent and what to AVOID AT ALL COSTS as Damon talks to local movie reviewer extraordinaire, Sam Hatch from Culture Dogs about this week’s new DVD and Blu Ray releases!

The Muppets are back with their latest adventure, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to new movie releases! Get the whole rundown with Sam Hatch!

Muppets Most Wanted

From the people who did Flight of the Conchords (and the previous Muppets movie), this sequel stars Ricky Gervais, Kermit the Frog and the rest of the gang.

Tom Hardy plays a construction worker who finds out this girl he slept around with is going in to labor.  He drives to London and the entire movie takes place in his car, as he figures out what to do about his wife, his mistress, and the big construction job his crew has to accomplish.  It’s kind of a cool suspense drama, actually.

A Haunted House 2

Marlon Wayans and Jamie Pressly are in yet another haunted house– it’s “scarily” haunted!  But the joke is a little tired at this point, honestly.

Frankie & Alice

Halle Berry stars as a go-go dancer with dissociative identity disorder, so she struggles with multiple personalities… including a racist Southern white woman named Alice.

DisneyNature’s Bears

If you want something cute and family friendly, this latest release from DisneyNature documents the lives of some adorable bear cubs.

From the guy who wrote Trainspotting, this movie is about a messed up cop (James McAvoy) who is trying to solve a murder while he’s getting embroiled in drugs, sex and more from the wrong side of the tracks.

Motel Hell

This 1980 cult classic is about a motel that sells meat, which may just be made of victims who once stayed there.  Shout Factory is releasing this flick on DVD and Blu Ray.

This crime drama is about a robbery in Las Vegas and stars Jean-Claude Van Damme.  Need we say more?
