It’s the movie freak and the movie geek– Find out what to buy, what to rent and what to AVOID AT ALL COSTS as Damon talks to local movie reviewer extraordinaire, Sam Hatch from Culture Dogs about this week’s new DVD and Blu Ray releases!

Fans of Johnny Depp and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be happy to know there’s some new movies out this week.  But are they any good?… Sam hatch has the answers!

Transcendence

This weird movie stars Johnny Depp as a guy who lives beyond the grave through artificial intelligence.  It’s from the guy who does the shooting on the Christopher Nolan Batman movies, but that doesn’t mean he can direct a movie all by himself.  It looks good, and it’s got Johnny Depp, but it’s certainly a renter, at best.

Sabotage

No, not the Beastie Boys song– this is the new action flick with Arnold Schwarzenegger!  It features a group of DEA agents who steal a lot of money, only to be murdered one by one, by an unknown assassin.

The Single Moms Club

The latest movie from Tyler Perry, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Cesar Chavez

Michael Pena plays the labor organizer in this biopic

Heaven is For Real

This drama stars Greg Kinnear, and it’s not the first time he’s gotten a little religious in a movie.

Dom Hemingway

Jude Law stars as a safecracker in this thriller.

If you want to see something really interesting, you can also check out Snowpiercer, On Demand or in select theaters.  It stars Chris Evans (Captain America), and it’s set in a futuristic world where, in order to save us all from global warming, they create something which backfires and turns Earth into an ice planet.  Everybody who is still alive are all on this one train traveling around the world, non-stop.  The people in the back of the train try to revolt and take over… it’s really weird, but very, very cool.
