Shortly after premiering a new song, “Get Her Back,” at the Billboard Music Awards last Sunday, it’s turning out Robin Thicke had more than just a new track up his sleeve. In fact, he has a whole album of songs ready to go.
The singer announced today (May 22) that he’ll release his seventh studio album — the follow-up to Blurred Lines — not even a year after his last. The currently untitled record will hit stores July 1, according to a release.
The new album will be his first since he broke out in a big way last spring and summer with “Blurred Lines,” the song that shot the soul/R&B singer back into the mainstream. The Pharrell– and T.I.-featuring tune was arguably the song of 2013’s summer — and perhaps of the year as a whole — with 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the triumph of becoming the best-selling song digitally of 2013.
