It’s the movie freak and the movie geek– Find out what to buy, what to rent and what to AVOID AT ALL COSTS as Damon talks to local movie reviewer extraordinaire, Sam Hatch from Culture Dogs about this week’s new DVD and Blu Ray releases!

Oscar winners, remakes and a little sequel called Catching Fire are out this week!  Get the inside scoop with our movie expert Sam Hatch!

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Tuesday is the normal “movie” day, but this one you’ll need to wait until Friday… but it’s worth the wait!  The sequel to The Hunger Games continues the story in a great way.  There’s going to be some cool special editions at various stores, so you might have to dig around for the version you want to own.

12 Years A Slave

The winner of Best Picture at the Oscars is now available on home video– what timing!  This is your chance to check out the buzzed about movie… but a word of warning– it’s intense stuff, not unlike Schindler’s List.

The Grandmaster

Another movie based on the life of Ip Man, who taught Bruce Lee kung-fu.  It’s a fancy version of the story which is pretty well done and avoids the Chop-Sockey cheese of some kung-fu movies.

Oldboy

This remake of the Korean crime classic stars Josh Brolin and Samuel L. Jackson, and was directed by Spike Lee.  It tells the story of a guy kidnapped and held hostage for years, before he is released to find out who imprisoned him and to get his revenge.

Wicked Blood

Sean Bean and Abigail Breslin star in this movie about a girl who hooks up with a biker.
