In most closets, snow boots are one category in which women don’t have the right footwear. Debbie has some tips on finding the right snow boots for you. The bottom line is, we live in New England, so it’s important to have the right footwear. Here’s some tips on finding the right boots.
1. Evaluate Your Needs
Do you need actual snow boots, or just an everyday boots for running errands? They’re very different, so make sure you know what you’re looking for. If you need the sport boot, look for something with a heavy tread. But for every day to look stylish but snow resistant, you don’t need that type of weight, so look for something lighter but still waterproof. Debbie suggests one of each, just in case.
2. Go Waterproof
When it comes to snow boots, make sure they are waterproof! Look for boots made of water resistant synthetics or water resistant leather. A lot of ladies like tall rain boots, which are great, inexpensive boots to own. And many now feature linings that add warmth, and they’re interchangeable so you can keep fashionable while warm and waterproof.
3. Evaluate the Warmth
Again, ask what kind of boots you really need. There’s all kinds of breathable fleeces, fur lined boots, and ones that are very well insulated, but they can be very heavy with the full tread and full insulation. If you choose these for every day wearing, they may get to be too much.
A lot of women try to stay stylish with their boots, which is good, but it’s also important to pay attention to the traction on the soles, as well. Some boots have rubber soles still lacking traction, so be careful to notice the soles when you look for a great looking pair of boots.
Debbie loves Sorel, Teva and The North Face boots… There’s a lot of beautiful boots out there, ShopStyle.com is a great site to start your search because they have a great variety. A lot of boots are also on sale this time of year, so it’s a good time to get those pairs of boots you really need!
