Carolyn Phillips Talks Giving the Gift of Green

Fit-inista Carolyn Phillips– our on air personal trainer– is back with more tips to get you in shape and what you need to do to stay that way!

It’s the holiday season, so Carolyn Phillips is here to talk about giving the gift of green this year.  No, not money– she’s talking about organic gifts you can give!

1.  CSA Membership

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture.  You can Google local farmers in your area and sign up for their membership program.  This program will bring you fresh produce for 22 weeks, and it breaks out to just $13.63 a week (they can break up payments in a variety of ways).  This is a way to always have great, fresh produce each week for the Spring, Summer and sometimes Fall!

2. TSP Spices is a site which sells teaspoons of organic herbs and spices– basil, rosemary, oregano, tarragon, thyme– they all have no calories, they spice up your foods and have a lot of health benefits.  The portions are delivered in packets and different types of products.

3.  Manduka Yoga Gear

Manduka uses only sustainable materials for their yoga mats, and they have a $5 recycling kit that lets Maduka properly dispose of you or your friend’s old yoga mat.

4.  Comfort and Joy by Jane

This company makes bath balms to add to the water in your tub, as well as stress-reducing pillows that improve your skin and make you feel better.

5.  Organic Bath Towels

Athena makes 100% organic bath towels, designed with nature in mind.  They feature a lot of cool colors and patterns which are found in nature.

6.  Pangea Certified Organic Bar Soap

This is described as “the swankiest sustainable soap in the world,” this soap comes in a variety of styles like lavender, cardamom, white sage and more.
