It’s the movie freak and the movie geek– Find out what to buy, what to rent and what to AVOID AT ALL COSTS as Damon talks to local movie reviewer extraordinaire, Sam Hatch from Culture Dogs about this week’s new DVD and Blu Ray releases!

In the mood to laugh? Or be thrilled by stuff blowing up??  Or maybe something classic, one of the great from yester-year?  Sam Hatch has the inside scoop on all the latest home video options you can rent, buy or skip this week!

White House Down

Damon’s “favorite,” Channing Tatum is back in this movie about a failed Secret Service wannabe who takes his little girl to the White House when all hell breaks loose.  It’s no Olympus Has Fallen, but it’s a decent action flick worth the rental.

Grown Ups 2

If you love the Adam Sandler/ David Spade/ Chris Rock/ Kevin James combo, this sequel is for you.  It wasn’t that much worse than the first one.

Lovelace

The Linda Lovelace story with Amanda Seyfried, Hank Azaria and more, telling her story of helping women resist violence.  It has its heart in the right place.

Girl Most Likely

This stars Kristen Wiig as a failed playwright who decides to do some insane things to get her ex back, but gets kicked back to her hometown and her family.  It flew through theaters, but if you missed it, it might be worth checking out.

Parkland

Zac Efron and Billy Bob Thorton star in the story of the JFK assassination, but which shines the spotlight on the hospital workers, FBI agents and everyone else involved in the day the President died.

Passion

The new Brian DePalma flick stars Rachel McAdams.  It’s a sexy, trashy advertising agency version of Black Swan.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Deluxe Edition

Let’s get excited!  This version has 13 minutes not seen in theaters, and hours and hours of special features.  If you have the big box sets of the Lord of the Rings movies, this special edition will compliment that nicely… but be careful– it can be “Hobbit-forming”!

James Dean Ultimate Collection

Here’s a super-super-SUPER set featuring all of the actor’s Warner Bros movies and ton of rarely seen extras.
