It’s the movie freak and the movie geek– Find out what to buy, what to rent and what to AVOID AT ALL COSTS as Damon talks to local movie reviewer extraordinaire, Sam Hatch from Culture Dogs about this week’s new DVD and Blu Ray releases!

Some movies can be appreciated all over again when they hit home video, and other ones treat their DVD Blu Ray release as a second chance to connect.  This week, you can laugh your butt off at The Heat once more, and (hopefully) finally get on the Pacific Rim bandwagon.  Get more details on these and other new releases out now!

The Heat

Bullock.  McCarthy.  This is one cool comedy starring these two awesome ladies!  Melissa McCarthy was foul mouthed and amazing in Bridesmaids, and she’s just as nasty in this one.  And Sandra Bullock played a great straight laced partner.

Pacific Rim

This movie was really REALLY great, and it’s a shame it didn’t catch on bigger at the box office, because it deserved to.  Guillermo Del Toro directed this visually stunning movie that has a great story, too.  It’s got old school giant monsters, a great cast and cool robots making it like Transformers on steroids.

Maniac

Frodo has gone wicked bad– Elijah Wood plays the titular Maniac, playing a homicidal and super creepy villain here.

If you want to get ready for both Halloween AND Thanksgiving… this one’s for you.  Apparently there have been TWO more movies before this one… Yikes.

Love Actually – 10th Anniversary Edition

This classic gets a nice reissue, can’t believe it’s been ten years already!

Wild Style – 30th Anniversary Edition

This one will flash you back to those 80s break dancing roots– with a great new collector’s edition.
