Sam Hatch’s DVD Picks For The Week: Iron Man 3, Room 237 & More

It’s the movie freak and the movie geek– Find out what to buy, what to rent and what to AVOID AT ALL COSTS as Damon talks to local movie reviewer extraordinaire, Sam Hatch from Culture Dogs about this week’s new DVD and Blu Ray releases!

Gear up for the Halloween season with a creepy documentary, a horror classic, and some great superhero flicks!

Iron Man 3

This one has Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin! If you liked the other Iron Man movies, you will at least want to rent this.

The Dark Knight Trilogy: (Batman Begins/The Dark Knight/The Dark Knight Rises)

It’s the Ultimate Collector’s Edition Box Set with never-before-seen extra features and more!

Room 237

It is a documentary on the original Stanley Kubrick version of The Shining. It tells of all the creepy conspiracy theories surrounding the film, including a guy who claims Stanley Kubrick faked the moon landing and The Shining is his secret confession! There are even these crazy people in New York who play the movie forwards and backwards so as the movie begins, you also see the ending of it playing backwards superimposed! It’s crazy stuff, you got to check it out…

In the House

A mystery/thriller about a kid who writes in a class and his teacher decides to start reading his tales… The teacher learns all sorts of creepy things going on in the kid’s house!

Unfinished Song

It’s about an old man who is dragged by his wife to go hang out with a local singing group. The man finds out that music is awesome!

In this action/thriller, Jason Statham comes back to London from the War in Afghanistan. He turns to drugs and gets involved with the mob… then he has to kill the mob.

If you really want to get ready for Halloween, check out this horror anthology! I think it is even better than the first one!

And if you want to see a vintage horror classic, the 35th Anniversary Edition of the original Halloween is also available! (No, it does not come with cups of Jamie Lee Curtis’ Activia yogurt!)
