While Michael Bublé is currently embarking on a nationwide tour, he’s leaving behind his wife Luisana and their newborn son Noah. Buble says his boy looks like his mom (although he was involved, too, at least for a couple of minutes). But Buble isn’t letting life on the road take away from his father-son time.
“It’s funny, I’m on my tour bus and he’s flying out here,” Buble explained in an interview with 96.5 TIC/Hartford. “So my whole bus just went from party bus to baby bus.”
As Buble gets busy bringing up his baby, he’s being mindful of pitfalls he had to grow up with when he was a kid. Case in point, with a name like Buble, what was the derogatory nickname he had in Junior High? “I can’t say it on radio,” he said coyly.
And his first time asking for himself in a record store was quite a doozy.
“The first time I looked at my album [in a store], I went to the guy and said ‘Hey, did you hear that new Michael Bublé record?'” he recalled. “He smiled at me, and went behind the counter, and handed me a Michael Bolton record.”
Comparisons not withstanding, Buble is one of several sexy young performers who seem to be circling the formation of a new Rat Pack, modeled after the classic gang consisting of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Dean Martin and more. Buble is obviously the new Sinatra, but who is his pick for Dean Martin– Harry Connick Jr or Justin Timberlake? “Timberlake is the new Sammy Davis,” he asserted. “I want to have a really cool new Rat Pack thing.”
