It’s the movie freak and the movie geek– Find out what to buy, what to rent and what to AVOID AT ALL COSTS as Damon talks to local movie reviewer extraordinaire, Sam Hatch from Culture Dogs about this week’s new DVD and Blu Ray releases!

There’s a lot of exciting new releases this week, including the film adaptation of the great American novel, a Michael Bay flick, a movie for the kids, and more! Get all the details right here…

The Great Gatsby

Didn’t do as well as expected in the box office, but it takes place in the Twenties and maybe kids today aren’t that excited about flappers and all of that. Some people don’t like director Baz Luhrmann’s work (Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge), but I was excited that he was doing it so I say check it out!  It stars Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, and you also have Jay-Z doing some soundtrack stuff…

Pain & Gain

The new Michael Bay flick with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson. Based on a true story, it’s about a bunch of bodybuilders in Florida mixed up with an extortion ring and a kidnapping scheme that goes wrong.

At Any Price

Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron star. It’s about a farmer who tries to bring his kid into the business. Of course his son wants to become a car racer because farming isn’t that exciting.

Super Buddies

The new cute little doggy movie from Disney. Now the puppies are superheros! They have superpowers!

Q: The Winged Serpent

Its an old classic that is being re-released for the first time in ages. Starring David Carradine, it’s about this giant dragon creature that decides to live in the Chrysler Building in Manhattan.

Some really cool stuff for TV fans coming out as well, including Sons of Anarchy: Season 5, and The Walking Dead: Season 3!

Happy viewing, and for more from Sam Hatch and all manner of film-related goodness, check out culturedogs.org!
