Taylor Swift’s ‘Red’ tour opened up a four-night stay at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Monday night and, as usual, the show did not disappoint. In addition to the nightly theatrics and duet with tourmate Ed Sheeran, Swift had surprises planned for the crowd.

First, Cher Lloyd came up on stage to perform the British singer’s “Want U Back”, but that was nothing compared to what Swift had planned for the end of the concert.  With just a few songs left in her set, the “Love Story” songstress was ready to deliver yet another surprise.

“I certainly don’t think you’d expect us to bring TWO special guests,” Swift said to a frenzied, sold out crowd. She then introduced Sara Bareilles to the crowd as the two sang the hit “Brave”.

Just a day prior, Bareilles had teased the duet to her nearly three million Twitter followers.

And once she made her appearance on stage, Bareilles returned to the social networking site to report on the night (and include a picture of her nieces with their hero).

Swift was also quick to tweet about the duet.
