She’s a wizard when it comes to wireless– Cellular Chloe is here to share the latest and greatest wireless wonders!
Sometimes Chloe keeps getting the same questions over and over, so she decided to go back to the basics, with some simple steps that can avoid big trouble when it comes to handling your smart phone.
1. Protecting Your Phone
Be sure to put a case on your phone– it’s mind boggling how many people buy a phone and then drop it within minutes of leaving the store. A case and a screen protector will help avoid damage, and a charger is totally necessary as well!
People often think they lose their contacts, but that’s not really possible with the way backups are structured in modern technology. All you need to do is activate it. On an Android phone, you have Backup Assistant, and each provider has a similar service included with the product. All you have to do is plug the phone into the computer every so often and back it up, and you’ll be sure you never lose your contacts and other important information.
If you haven’t activated Find My iPhone, or some kind of security, then your phone is vulnerable if it gets lost. Activate programs like Find My iPhone (it’s pre loaded), and the best app is Lookout, which backs up your info, scans for viruses and will find your phone if it is missing.
4. Password Protect your Phone
If you do lose your phone and someone finds it, all your personal information will be attainable, but if you put a password lock you’re protecting yourself. It will safeguard your photos, banking info and other pertinent stuff you don’t want out there. And change your password from time to time to be extra safe.
