It’s the movie freak and the movie geek– Find out what to buy, what to rent and what to AVOID AT ALL COSTS as Damon talks to local movie reviewer extraordinaire, Sam Hatch from Culture Dogs about this week’s new DVD and Blu Ray releases!

There’s a lot of exciting new releases this week, and there’s something for everyone, from the horror hounds, to the action junkies, sports fans or even music documentary fans!  Get all the details right here…

42

The Jackie Robinson story makes for a compelling story, and it’s very well done and worth checking out.  Like the best sports movies, they take out all the boring stuff and leave the drama and intensity intact making for a great movie to watch.

Evil Dead

For the horror fans, this remake of the Sam Raimi cult classic from the 80s is WAY more hardcore than the campy original.  It’s bloody and nasty and a lot more serious.

Bullet To The Head

Sylvester Stallone’s action movie features a hitman from New Orleans and a cop from NYC teaming up to bring down a killer.  Even if it tanked at the box office, it’s not a bad straight forward action flick.

An Affair of the Heart

Because… someone?…. asked for it, here’s a documentary based on singer Rick Springfield– in fact, it’s the FIRST EVER feature doc of the musician.

Check out one of these releases this week… or if you’re in the mood to hit the movie theater, go see Pacific Rim (out now) or The Conjuring (out Friday)… both those flicks are a GREAT TIME!!  For more from Sam Hatch, check out CultureDogs.org!
