Mariah Carey is currently sporting a “very fashionable” sling after suffering a fall on the set of her new music video this past Sunday (July 7). The on-set mishap sent her to the hospital for a dislocated shoulder.
Two days after the accident, which occurred during the video shoot for the “#Beautiful” remix, Carey tweeted out a light-hearted photo of herself in the hospital to let fans know that she was recovering just fine.

Her husband Nick Cannon, who directed the shoot, appeared on the Today Show to give a few more details about the extent of her injuries.
“It was pretty serious,” he said. “Not only did she dislocate her shoulder, she actually cracked a rib and … she chipped her shoulder bone.”
Cannon added that the accident was a result of an on-set slip, explaining that Mariah was wearing a “nice, beautiful gown, heels on and everything, and was kind of on this platform and reached and slipped and fell on her whole side.”
Despite the injury, Carey will still perform with the New York Philharmonic this Saturday (July 13) on Central Park’s Great Lawn for the 2013 MLB All-Star Charity concert. The show will benefit those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
