Sam Hatch’s DVD Picks For The Week: Jack The Giant Slayer, Movie 43, Stoker & More

It’s the movie freak and the movie geek– Find out what to buy, what to rent and what to AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE as Damon talks to local movie reviewer extraordinaire, Sam Hatch from Culture Dogs about this week’s new DVD and Blu Ray releases!

June 18th sees some brand new movies hit DVD and Blu Ray, with releases to please the whole family, the movie geek in your life and everyone in between.  Get all the details…

Jack The Giant Slayer

This one stars Ewan McGregor going up against some nasty looking giants.  It’s a good rental for the whole family, although the giants can be a little scary

21 and Over

This raunchy comedy is about a guy getting in over his head on his 21st birthday.

This is a weird movie starring Nicole Kidman, who goes to this creepy, woodsy family estate.  Things quickly get all messed up and twist-y, but that’s all Sam can say without spoiling it.

Dustin Hoffman directed this movie about folks losing their memory in a retirement home. It’s got Billy Connolly in it, but other than him it’s probably one to avoid.

Movie 43

This is a mega-raunchy collection of shorts, with a ton of stars like Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Justin Long and many more.  The Red Band trailer made sailors blush, so it’s definitely out there.

The Last Exorcism Part Two

This doesn’t make sense– how can it be the last, if there’s a part two?  This makes the first movie “the NEXT to the Last Exorcism.”

Last week was better, with releases like the latest Die Hard, but this week seems to make up for quality with quantity… Check out one of these releases this week, and for more from Sam Hatch, check out!
