Spring is in the air, and that means it’s time for the flowers to bloom, the sun to shine… and Spring Cleaning to commence! This week, Debbie Wright has the Top 5 reasons why doing a Spring Clean on your closet is a good thing– Check out her tips below!
1. Cleaning your closet will save you money.
With those jumbo hangers and overstuffed shelves, it can be difficult to get through the clutter to see what you have. Women only wear about 10% of what they own– once you organize everything you have you can save yourself money by shopping for the RIGHT clothes. Clutter equals confusion!
2. Save Time
It’s a simple truth– less is more. When we have too much stuff in the closet, it makes choices more difficult. The average person spends 30-60 minutes a day that’s completely wasted– that’s a lot of time to save!
3. Make Money
The most obvious ways are going to consignment stores or eBay, but Debbie discovered a new website called Tradesy.com, which lets you swap OR sell and buy! It’s very easy to use– much more simple to set up and use than eBay. It’s a great way to turn your old clothes into cash!
4. Just Let Go
Our closet is not a costume institution– don’t keep too much stuff just for the sake of keeping it, only hold onto the clothes you’re going to wear!
5. Less Is More
You can maximize your outfits when you know what you’re looking at. When you buy something new and replace an item, get rid of something to balance it out. Chances are there’s something in your closet that you haven’t worn in a long time. When you do the swap, it keeps you organized AND looking good.
