The Wanted Call Reality Show A Mix “Between Pride & Prejudice And Jersey Shore”
Tom and Jay from The Wanted were eager to give the inside scoop on their new reality TV series– and indulge in some delicious candy– when they sat down with Damon and Gina backstage at the GRAMMYs.
The Wanted are one of the biggest boy bands out there, and they will be taking their talents to the small screen next, with their own reality show. “We start filming our reality show next month,” Tom said. “It should be fun.”
“We live in a house. They’ll follow us to the studio, awards shows and parties,” said Jay. “We filmed the pilot, and we’re kind of nervous about how it turned out because Reality [TV] is kind of like an oxymoron, it’s usually scripted– but they are going to follow us around. This show can be very foolish but also show a bit of heart– I like that, it’s a good vibe.”
“It’s crazy!” Tom said. “They’re watching us taking a dump! They’ve gotta watch that kind of thing.”
“Great acoustics, as well,” Jay joked.
What happens if one of the Wanted boys bring a girl back to the house? That will likely be included as well! “That has a bit of a Jersey Shore vibe, doesn’t it?” said Jay. “I think it’s somewhere between that, and ‘Pride & Prejudice.'”
While the show will follow the band living together under one roof, it won’t be the first time they’ve been in this situation. “Back when we were broke, we lived together for a year, because we couldn’t afford to live in London,” Jay explained. “We’ll argue, but we’re all like mates.”
The Wanted’s reality show will debut this June, and they’ll be hitting the road again later in 2013 for a new tour.
