Jeff Probst Talks About His ‘Survivor’ Themed Kids Book

Jeff Probst, the host of Survivor, stopped by to talk with Gina and Damon backstage at the 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards.

“We had a busy year this year,” Jeff explained of his busy, multi-faceted schedule.  “We had a lot going on.”  In addition to the recently-returned Survivor, Jeff just finished his latest book, Stranded, a children’s book centered around the long running hit CBS show.

“The book is out now, it’s a kids book… Survivor for kids,” he explained.  “We put them on a boat with the favorite uncle and there’s a shipwreck and the kids are left alone. It is taken from Survivor, but it is in the eyes of kids.”

Survivor has been going on for thirteen years now, and Jeff sees the marketing need to put the books in the eyes of children. “People ask me, why don’t you do a Survivor for kids?  Because you’re eight… there might be a problem,” he explained. “It’s in my best interest to keep kids involved in Survivor and in seven or eight years I’ll snuff your torch for real!”

Watch Survivor each Wednesday at 8pm EST, only on CBS!
