Remember the movie, “It’s A Wonderful Life” starring Jimmy Stewart as the ‘giving-est man in town, George Bailey” who loses everything only to have his friends come to his aid during a dire financial situation? Then, George’s guardian angel, Clarence leaves him a copy of Tom Sawyer in which is inscribed: “Dear George, remember no man is a failure who has friends.”

So I’m asking you, my friends to help my dear friend in need, Rob Brenner, one of the giving-est men I know.  After his sister died of cancer years ago, Rob and his wife Dawn spent countless hours and money to support  the charitable cancer organization, Livestrong. They’ve organized fundraisers for others in need.  They have always been there to help. Now, it’s time to help those that have helped so many.  Please find it in your heart to start out 2013 by paying it forward, even if it’s for someone you’ve never met.

Rob Brenner has been fighting for his life since early November after being diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. He’s had numerous surgeries, but unfortunately doctors couldn’t remove ALL of the tumor because it’s attached to his brain stem. It’s quite a stark contrast to go from seeing Rob and Dawn dressed to ride for Livestrong to seeing this picture of Dawn holding Rob’s hand…a photo she posted on Facebook and simply titled it, “Love.”  To make matters worse, Rob parted ways with his company soon before finding out about the brain tumor, leaving the family in a very stressful situation as they fight through recovery.
