Simon to Britney: “You’re Fired.”

The creator of the hit FOX show The X Factor has decided to fire judge Britney Spears after just one season, The New York Daily News reports, after just one season.

This year Spears was joined by judges L.A. Reid, Demi Lovato, and Cowell.

Last season Simon did a similar sweep of the judges by firing Paula Abdul and, Nicole Scherzinger, and host Steve Jones.

Spears was supposed to be a major ratings boost to the show with an $11 million dollar contract but failed to produce expected results.  The Dec. 20 season finale was watched by only 9.6 million viewers, down 18 percent from the first season finale.

“He wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney,” another source told US Weekly.

Spears was often mocked online for her repeated use of the word “amazing.”
