The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion show may be coming to a close, but Melissa Gorga is not slowing down anytime soon.  She talked all about her new single “I Just Wanna,” and, of course, recollections from the TV series with Gina J.

Melissa Gorga is coming to Mohegan Sun this weekend for their “Sweet and Not-So-Sweet 16″ anniversary celebration, and the Real Housewife will be giving her fans a chance to hear her new single “I Just Wanna.”  Gorga just filmed the video for the song, which was a new experience for the reality star.  “It was surreal,” she recalled. “It’s my first music video.”

Fans can expect more music from Gorga very soon, as she just teamed up with producer Johnny Wright.  Each time she moves forward as a singer, Gorga feels her confidence and her voice develop more and more.  “With each song it gets a little bit easier for me,” she said. “I feel myself a little bit more in each song.”

The chance to showcase her music was one of the reasons Melissa originally signed up for Real Housewives, but the opportunity to feature her family was even more important.  “I didn’t come on to hurt anybody or bring anyone down,” she explained.  “There’s so much to be proud of too.  I’m proud of my marriage, I’m proud of my kids, proud of the way Joe and I were not born with silver spoons in our mouths. We built this house and we built this life and I’m proud of that.”

As is usually the case with reality TV, drama still tends to rear its ugly head, even amidst the best of intentions.  Melissa admitted this drama leads to passion, and it’s just as heated in front of the camera as it is for viewers at home.  “We’re very passionate Italians and I think it comes right through the TV and you see how real it is,” she said of her show’s notorious melees.

Melissa also admitted she’s not above giving in to the heat herself, recalling the recent scuffle as Teresa Guidice and Kim DePaola stirred rumors about Melissa’s past as an alleged stripper. Radar Online recently reported Kim took full responsibility for the rumors, but Melissa says there’s a different story on display in the Reunion Finale.  “Kim changes her story like she changes her underwear,” said Melissa.  “She’ll say anything, do anything to get her store out there.”

Sometimes, the drama behind the scenes amongst the cast is nowhere near as heated as it seems– small things can get blown way out of proportion when the media catches wind of them.  Melissa cited the wild rumors that Teresa called her niece Antonia ugly as one very clear example.  “You should only believe half of what you read,” said Melissa.  “A lot of it gets twisted and turned. Like, Teresa is writing that I said, she said Antonia was ugly, if you go back and read the quote, it doesn’t say anything about that.”

One part of the Reunion saw Melissa address Joe cheating on Teresa. Melissa suggested it was because of the grunting, but she got shot down fast by her on-screen rival. “I think at that point we were all very heated… she was attacking me, she was attacking my music, she was attacking everything I’ve ever tried to do in life,” she said of the skirmish.  But she admits when cooler heads prevail she has no hostility for her co-star.  “I’ve never tried to hurt her. I wish her nothing but success.”

With the Reunion Finale approaching, what’s next for Melissa and the cast of RHONJ?  There’s been rumors some of the ladies won’t be back, but Melissa confirms that, right now, these are nothing but rumors.  “We don’t know, we have no contracts yet for Season 5,” she said.  “We don’t even know if there is a Season 5.”  For her part, Melissa is happy to enjoy a little bit of a break, although she plans on sticking around for a while.

“The breaking point for me would be if it starts to affect my kids or my marriage,” she said of when she would walk away.  “If anyone gets unhappy in this house, it will stop right then and there.”
