Michael Clarke Duncan has been hospitalized for more than four weeks since having a heart attack last month but he has been moved from intensive care. “His family are firm believers in the power of prayer and have asked that you keep him in yours during this time,” a rep for the actor said in a statement.

NBC is responding to Sharon Osborne’s comments about how they fired her son Jack after he revealed he had MS.  NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt explains, “We hold medical information in strict confidence and therefore cannot comment specifically about Jack, but as a company that cares deeply about the health and safety of everyone on our shows — especially one like ‘Stars Earn Stripes’ that requires dangerous water stunts, strenuous physical activity, and uses live ammunition — we required all potential participants to undergo medical vetting to ensure that they could safely participate.” The statement continued, “Although we did not ask Jack to participate in the competition, we were able to offer him two substantial alternative roles on the show, both of which he declined. This network does not discriminate on any basis.”

Justin Bieber made some not so nice comments about Prince William’s balding: “I mean, there are things to prevent that nowadays, like Propecia,” Bieber, 18, told the U.K.’s Rollercoaster magazine. “I don’t know why he doesn’t just get those things, those products. You just take Propecia and your hair grows back. Have you not got it over here?”

The Spice Girls are supposed to be performing at the closing ceremonies of the Olympics this weekend and looks like Victoria is being a diva: “Victoria Beckham has outrageous demands. Let’s just say that they are paying at least $15,000 for Victoria Beckham’s hair, make-up and stylist. In comparison, the other Spice Girls cost one-fourth of what Victoria is costing.”

Veteran composer Marvin Hamlisch died yesterday after a brief illness.  He co-wrote one of Broadway’s   show tunes, A Chorus Line’s “One.”  He was 68.
