Kathy Lee Gifford may have been sipping the vino a little too much before interviewing her guest, Martin Short, about his role on the upcoming kids movie Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.
Kathy Lee has always celebrated different types of alcohol during her segment on NBC’s Today Show, including a special segment on Tuesday’s titled ‘BoozeDay Tuesday.’ Perhaps she should have studied her notes a little harder about her guest instead of mixing margaritas.
In the episode on May 30, Kathy Lee tells Martin Short he has “One of the greatest marriages in show business (36 years).”
Check out the video of Short’s confused, yet sentimental expression:
Gifford: “You’re still in love!”
Short: “Madly in love”
A baffled Short: “Cute, it’s because I’m cute.”
Gifford: “And you make each other laugh”
Gifford later tweeted out an apology. However the account she thought she was tweeting at does not belong to the actor.
I send my sincerest apologies to @MartinShort and his family. He handled situation w/enormous grace and kindness and I’m so grateful.— Kathie Lee Gifford (@KathieLGifford) May 30
Martin Short plays Stefano in Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, in theaters June 8.
(Damon Scott is ready to see Madagascar!)
