One of the more ingenious props used in a television show in recent memory is a live cat. “Purrfect the Cat,” a white Persian can usually be found nestling in the arms of her adopted papa, The Voice’s Cee Lo Green.
Cee Lo’s “secret weapon” has become a star in her own right during the course of the music reality show’s second season, gathering over 53,000 Twitter followers and 17,000 Facebook “likes.” Not to mention a healthy online rivalry with “Voice” co-star, and Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine:

But now it looks as though Purrfect has a shot of becoming a star in her very own right as she and her papa have collaborated on a remix of the Meow Mix cat food jingle.

Cee Lo commented on his kitty’s deal via a press release, saying, “Purrfect was thrilled to hear about this new deal with Meow Mix cat food. That sultry purr of hers is perfect for a modernized remix of the iconic Meow Mix jingle. Watch out cats!”
In honor of their strong bond, the Meow Mix brand is helping the pair give back to the pet community by pledging to donate 1 pound of cat food for each download to PAWS/LA, with the goal of donating up to 12,000 pounds of cat food.
In a recent interview, Cee Lo confirmed that Purrfect is a rescue cat who he’s had for a little less than a year. He said he brought her on The Voice as a gag inspired by Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers films.
The remix isn’t the only thing connecting the star with the famous brand. According to a recent survey conducted by Kelton Research, five percent of Americans believe if their cat could talk, it would sound like Cee Lo Green. Most Americans also thought they had heard the memorable jingle in the last 18 months, when in reality, the famous commercial has not aired for 16 years.
The remix, featuring the famous “Meow, Meow, Meow, Meow” lyrics, is available to download on the Meow Mix website.
