Carrie Underwood spent the first half of this week (and her release day) in NY promoting her new album Blown Away.  Her days were filled with TV, radio and online appearances, but in the middle of it all, she took the time to make sure she purchased her own copy.

While in town, Carrie stopped by Fresh 102.7 for an interview where she shared how she approached writing for this album.  As it turns out, finding inspiration for the tracks didn’t come from the daily events in her own life.

She also chatted a bit about the songs themselves that made it on to Blown Away, but watch how Carrie lights up when talking about the album’s title track.

From New York, Carrie is moving on to LA this week where she’ll return to her American Idol roots and join the show for a performance tomorrow night.

You can look forward to your own performance from the singer in a town near you soon. To go along with her brand new album are the just announced dates of her upcoming tour.  She’ll start her outing this coming September 14, staying out on the road into December.  Fans should go to Carrie’s site for information on tickets.  For anyone that didn’t get to take a peek at her tour dates yet, check out the long list below.
