Prom season is upon us and whether you’re still in high school or occasionally reminisce about those years, here are some songs that are bound to take you back and get the party started.

“I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas

An appropriate entrance to any party, this song promises a fun night whether or not your date can tear it up on the dance floor.

“Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO

Thankful the breakup rumors are false, LMFAO will be party rocking everywhere for a long time to come and no doubt will bring everyone along.

“Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Green Day

For the nostalgic in all of us, Green Day‘s timeless classic is the epitome of next steps, be it college or simply life after high school.

“I’ve Had the Time of My Life” by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes

Made famous from 1987 film Dirty Dancing, hit the dance floor with your best Baby and Johnny impersonations. Just make sure your date has the muscles for that lift.

“I Will Remember You” by Sarah McLachlan

Before it was known as the theme song for rescuing animals from abuse, Sarah McLachlan was winning over soon-to-be high school graduates everywhere with the poignant “I Will Remember You.” At the time it just seemed unfathomable to lose touch with all those BFF.

“Glad You Came” by The Wanted

What’s prom without a song by a boy band? Whether it’s Boys II Men‘s power ballads or current U.K. sensation The Wanted, there’s at least one track that will strike up that childhood nostalgia.

“Here’s to the Night” by Eve 6

“Here’s to the nights we felt alive/ Here’s to the tears you knew you’d cry/ Here’s to goodbye, tomorrow’s gonna come too soon,” Eve 6 convincingly sing on their 2001 hit.

“We Are Young” by fun.

Who can’t relate to a song inspired by a night of drinking? With fun.’s chart-topping success it’d be a surprise if the class of 2012 didn’t make this their theme song.

“TiK ToK” by Ke$ha

You can always count on Ke$ha for a night of fun. Just please don’t brush your teeth with a bottle of Jack.

“Red Solo Cup” by Toby Keith

Just in case you need some music for the after party, Toby Keith‘s “Red Solo Cup” is sure to make a fitting soundtrack for the evening.
