The Wanted To Perform On “American Idol” And Olympics
Continuing their global takeover, The Wanted just announced they will make an appearance next week on American Idol.
Meanwhile, the U.K. sensation will help light the Olympic torch this summer as well as perform at a series of concerts leading up to the start of the Olympics. The Olympic Torch Relay Finale concert will be held in Hyde Park and will feature a set by The Wanted as well as additional performances by Dizzee Rascal, You Me At Six, Eliza Doolittle, Mark Ronson and Katy B.
On Tuesday, April 3 The Wanted’s next single off their self-titled EP will be released. Titled “Lightning,” the sing-along chorus includes the lyrics: “I know that it’s a little bit frightening, we might as well be playing with lightning.”
Two days later, the band will take the stage at American Idol. Max George expressed his excitement recently on Twitter.

After success in the U.K., the band has been gaining popularity in America with their hit single “Glad You Came.” The group is currently gearing up for their first U.S. album due for release April 24.
