Houston’s death was caused by accidental drowning, cocaine ingestion and heart disease, according to CBS Los Angeles.
Marijuana, anti-anxiety drug Xanax, muscle relaxant Flexeril and over-the-counter allergy medication Benadryl were also found in the singer’s blood, but those substances did not contribute to her death.
No foul play has been suspected. A final report should be revealed in a few weeks. Houston died the day before the Grammy awards, where she was to attend a lavish party hosted by Clive Davis. Last year, she underwent outpatient treatment for drug and alcohol treatment.
