Last.fm Trends: Gaga Has Her First ‘Marilyn Monroe Moment’
Lady Gaga recently had the honor of performing at an event celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Clinton Foundation.
In true Marilyn Monroe fashion, who sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy in 1962, Lady Gaga dedicated a song to Bill Clinton as a belated birthday present for the sixty-five year old.
In light of her recent exploits, Last.fm Trends looks at how the scrobbles of one of the world’s biggest pop stars are shaping up.
Lady Gaga is, unsurprisingly, one of the most scrobbled artists on Last.fm. 144,678,432 scrobbles means she comfortably beats off fellow pop queens such as Rihanna (76,717,315 scrobbles) and Ke$ha (34,522,401 scrobbles)
Her latest album, Born This Way, was released at the end of May this year and already boasts 19,586,391 scrobbles. Her most popular three tracks amongst listeners last week all came from the album – “Born This Way”, “The Edge Of Glory” and “Judas” – all being listened to by well over 15,000 different listeners.
The spike in scrobbles you see is all attributable to Born This Way, taking Gaga close to a whopping 4,000,000 weekly scrobbles. Though the hype has now settled, she is still raking in over 1,000,000 scrobbles a week – a number sure to keep her at the top of her game.
