Back To The Future Shoes Just Got Real!

Some of the coolest shoes never made were the futuristic sneakers worn by Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly in Back To The Future: Part 2. And now after all these years, Nike has finally released the shoes of the future! The Nike Air Mag AKA “Marty McFly” shoe was just released as a very limited edition (only 1,500 pairs were made), and they are being auctioned off right now on EBay with all proceeds going to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research!

While the sneakers don’t self-lace like in the movie (although Nike is working on that now– they just filed a patent for self-lacing shoes!), they do light up just like in the movie! The team from the original Back to the Future movies have also made a brand new short film to help promote the charity… check it out now!!

To help promote this awesome benefit, Back To The Future producer Frank Marshall posted on Twitter “something big is coming soon,” followed shortly by an amazing short film featuring the return of Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown from the BTTF films!

This is a really cool idea and a great way to raise money for a very important cause. In an age when every movie seems to be getting remade or rebooted, it’s great to see Back to the Future coming back in a different, more special way!

Our hats off to Michael J. Fox, Nike and the whole team of people who put this together! The auctions are live now through September 18th. They’re already getting pretty pricey, but Click Here for a better look at the Back To The Future Shoes!
