Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine will not be attending tonight’s MTV VMA’s. Not because his band didn’t get nominated for any of the Moonman shaped awards, but because Adam believes what alot of people do – MTV isn’t about the music anymore!!!
“The VMAs [are the] one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music,” the Maroon 5 lead singer tweeted Saturday. “I’m drawing a line in the sand. F–k you, VMAs.”
MTV was quick with it’s response, tweeting back: “Soooo you’ll be tuning in at 9/8C tomorrow right? (BTW, bonus points if you TwitPic your 2004 Moonman!)”.
And maybe it is his new job as judge on NBC’s “The Voice,” but Adam Levine had to get the last word. He shot back at MTV with a tweet saying “Still waiting to have my ‘Jerry Maguire mission statement moment of deep regret… “Not happening. Phew!”
