Jersey Shore Photocall In Florence

[photogallerylink id=45656 align=right]Is there anyone who really likes The Jersey Shore?  Sure, we all watch it– the continuing exploits of the world’s biggest human trainwrecks is seriously compelling and addictive, like that sneak peek at a car accident you just have to look at.  But now clothing company Abercrombie and Fitch are saying “enough is enough” on the all-night alcohol binges, drunken hookups from Jersey to Florence Italy (and that DNA cocktail that was once the Jersey Shore hot tub– ick!)…

Yesterday, Abercrombie and Fitch offered a “substantial payment” to Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino– and the rest of the cast of MTV’s biggest show– to STOP wearing A&F clothing!  This may be the first time a company has offered to pay for not having product placement on a TV show!  Keep reading to get all the details on this fashion feud in the making…

Abercrombie and Fitch issued the following statement regarding their clothing line and its use on-air for Jersey Shore:
“We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans.  We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”

For their part, MTV is calling A&F’s bluff, saying this is a “clever publicity stunt.”  They may have a point– just last summer the clothing store featured “The Fitchuation” T-Shirts on its shelves…

So what do you think– is this just a clever marketing stunt on behalf of the clothier?  Or are they really sick of seeing how many times Snooki gets her head stuck inside the proverbial honey jar?… Let us know in the comments below!
