Coldplay, put us out of our misery!
The band [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Coldplay[/lastfm] is gradually releasing new material on their website in anticipation of the Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall EP, which is on iTunes now. First the band leaked a single called “Major Minus,” and now we can sneak a listen to “Moving to Mars.”
These new singles are less poppy than “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall,” (the song not the EP, very confusing) which the band released earlier this month. It seems the EP will have a considerable breadth, since “Major Minor” scans as a guitar-screeching epic and “Moving to Mars” is a contemplative, sparse number.
Of course, Chris Martin‘s voice is as unmistakable as ever. Nice production touches from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Brian Eno[/lastfm] as well.
The guys are currently overseas in the U.K. getting ready to headline the Glastonbury Festival for the first time since 2005, and perhaps play “Major Minus” live for the fans. The concert will stream online and air on VH1 as part of a first-of-its-kind production for BBC Radio.
Also: The band’s fifth full album is almost complete and will be out later this year.
Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall can be pre-ordered on iTunes now.
