If you happen to like your “mommy juice” AND Train, then you’re in luck! The Grammy-award-winning group have had their own wine club for some time now, but soon they’ll be taking it one step further by introducing their own creation, Drops of Jupiter, the wine.
Beginning next week, the Drops of Jupiter Petite Sirah will be available from the band’s online wine club as well as other outlets. Just as the name of the wine is taken from one of the group’s earlier hits, their wine company, Save Me San Francisco Wine Co., takes its name from their latest album and current single.
Speaking to Billboard.com, Train guitarist Jimmy Stafford said:
We’re not really trying to get into the wine business or anything. It’s really kind of helping to spread the name out there, and something for our fans.
He also equated this latest venture with something [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jimmy Buffett[/lastfm] initially established:
Jimmy Buffett got known for margaritas because of a song he wrote. … It almost created this community vibe. We’re trying to create just this little vibe, where people come to our shows, bring a picnic basket and bottle of wine.
Portions of the proceeds from sales of the wine will go to Family House, a charity which provides temporary housing for the families of sick children, in San Francisco.
