[photogallerylink id=40766 align=left]Some local Connecticut residents are making their big screen debut this weekend, but they’re not people– they’re penguins! Mystic Aquarium’s African penguin colony will be featured in the new Jim Carrey comedy Mr. Popper’s Penguins. The film, an adaptation of the 1938 children’s book about a businessman unexpectedly inheriting six penguins, opens this Friday nationwide, but the place to see it is definitely the Bow Tie Palace Theater in Hartford– the theater will host a red carpet event from 6 to 7pm on Friday, with two of Mystic’s penguins walking the red carpet!
In addition to taking pictures on the penguins’ red carpet walk, spectators will be able to meet Mystic Aquarium’s penguin trainers and receive coupons for the Aquarium until 7pm. What a way to start the weekend!
