I don’t know anyone who enjoys paying taxes, but for [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Adele[/lastfm] they’re downright infuriating.
[pullquote quote="When I got my tax bill in from 19, I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire." credit="Adele"]The 21 singer told Q Magazine: “I’m mortified to have to pay 50 per cent! [While] I use the NHS, I can’t use public transport any more. Trains are always late, most state schools are s**t, and I’ve gotta give you, like, four million quid – are you having a laugh?” She continued, “When I got my tax bill in from 19, I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire.”
Adele may be peeved about the taxman, but her fans are starting to get peeved at her. There have been all sorts of anti-Adele rants on Twitter. Just try doing a search for “Adele” and “Taxes”:
Adele is relatively young, her first album was released when she was just 19-years-old, the sticker shock of citizenship may have been a wee bit shocking to a novice tax-payer. Lucky for her, thanks to “Rolling in the Deep”, she’s rolling the dough. She can afford the public transit tax.
