Season 7 Winner of American Idol (and the next artist in our Acoustic Cafe series), [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]David Cook[/lastfm], just released a new video for his original song “The Last Goodbye” and announced that he was going back on American Idol to do a live performance of the 1985 [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Simple Minds[/lastfm] hit “Don’t You (Forget About Me).”
Cook has always had a super unique take on the covers that he does of any song; each song comes out sounding like a David Cook original. In honor of his upcoming sophomore album, This Loud Morning, and his American Idol performance, we decided to do a retrospective on some of our Favorite Covers From David Cook.
10. “Hungry Like The Wolf” (originally sung by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Duran Duran[/lastfm])
Maybe he doesn’t have the sexy, synthy sound that Duran Duran had, but Cook’s rendition of “Hungry Like The Wolf” made us hungry for more.
