Before there was American Idol or The Voice, there was the Eurovision Song Contest. Eurovision–one of the longest-running, most-watched entertainment-centric television programs in history–is a yearly competition between European countries that has been running since 1956.

Year after year, many talented artists come out of the Eurovision program including [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]ABBA[/lastfm], who won for Sweden in 1974, and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Céline Dion[/lastfm], who won for Switzerland in 1988.

Do the crazy hats make them somehow sound better? Probably. Do we care how we get entertained? Not really.
