Last.fm Trends: Britney Rushes Release To Top Chart
Last.fm Trends ask if fans are ready for more from Spears.
As soon as “Hold It Against Me” dropped Britney’s fans flew out in force; they pushed the single straight to the top of her weekly charts and have helped keep it fairly high since.
She’s had a pretty strong showing over the following weeks, and only the smallest number of fans have dropped off. It’s also bumped listener figures for recent hits up (“Womanizer” climbed by more than 2,000 listeners when “Hold It Against Me” came out).
But she’s not without competition; “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga is enjoying exactly the same rush of listeners, as is Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” as we pointed out earlier this week.
Only time will tell if she can make a dent on the lead that Lady Gaga is building up. 99.7 Now compared the singers latest videos earlier this week, as both stars tilt towards the crazy to grab your attention. Gaga’s on top for now, but can Britney reclaim her crown?
Find out with Last.fm Trends as more of Femme Fatale makes it out into the daylight, ahead of its release later this month.
