[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Elton John[/lastfm] last graced the stage of Studio 8H at NBC Studios for Saturday Night Live in 1982, and now he’s making his big return when he hosts the sketch comedy show next month.
It’ll be a busy week for Elton, who will need to work with the writers and performers on sketches – and his opening monologue – during the week.
In addition, he’ll need to rehearse his musical performance, in preparation for his double-duty hosting/performing gig on the episode of SNL, currently scheduled for April 2.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Leon Russell will accompany Elton on stage for the musical portion.
It’ll be fun to see what the writers come up with for humorous lyrics for Elton to sing in his usual style, which ought to be instant comedy gold. It’ll also be interesting to see how Elton introduces himself as the musical guest.
Where to next?
