GRAMMYs

You can watch the GRAMMY Awards LIVE on CBS Sunday night and hear them LIVE on 96.5 TIC.  Before you catch the biggest night in music, why not get a sneak peak at who will take home the hardware?

OK, maybe we haven’t opened the envelopes, but these are the names we think you will hear Sunday night in Los Angeles.

Best Pop Vocal Album

•[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Justin Bieber[/lastfm], My World 2.0
•[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Susan Boyle[/lastfm], I Dreamed A Dream
•[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm], The Fame Monster
•[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]John Mayer[/lastfm], Battle Studies
•[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Katy Perry[/lastfm], Teenage Dream

In addition to seeing Gaga perform her new single “Born This Way”, you should get used to seeing a lot of the pop star. Expect to see Gaga up on stage at least a few times Sunday night, including for Best Pop Vocal Album, though watch out for another diva — Katy Perry — nipping at her heels.
Prediction: [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm]

Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals

•[lastfm link_type="similar_artist_radio"]Glee Cast[/lastfm] “Don’t Stop Believin’ (Regionals Version)”
•[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Maroon 5[/lastfm] “Misery”
•[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Paramore [/lastfm]“The Only Exception”
•[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Sade [/lastfm]“Babyfather”
•[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Train [/lastfm]“Hey, Soul Sister (Live)”

In an age where music sales are down across the board, the kids on Glee manage to top the iTunes charts ever single week with their take on hits new and old. Their multiple performances of “Don’t Stop Believin'” last season exposed the song to a whole new audience.
Prediction: [lastfm link_type="similar_artist_radio"]Glee Cast[/lastfm]

Best New Artist

• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Justin Bieber[/lastfm]
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Drake[/lastfm]
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Florence and the Machine[/lastfm]
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Mumford and Sons[/lastfm]
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Esperanza Spalding[/lastfm]

The name with the most buzz right now is Florence and the Machine, but that little lady will have a tough time taking down the Biebs. There has been no bigger zero-to-100 artist in all of music, likely making this award all but a lock for the young Canadian.
Prediction: [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Justin Bieber[/lastfm]

Record Of The Year

• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]B.o.B[/lastfm] feat. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bruno Mars[/lastfm], “Nothin’ on You”
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Eminem [/lastfm]feat. [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Rihanna[/lastfm], “Love the Way You Lie”
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cee Lo Green[/lastfm], “F*** You”
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Jay-Z[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Alicia Keys[/lastfm], “Empire State of Mind”
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Antebellum[/lastfm], “Need You Now”

This one could be the most wide open of the night. Eminem and Jay-Z are two of the biggest names in all of music, Lady Antebellum has the country vote behind them while Cee Lo has been coming on strong lately.
Prediction: [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cee Lo Green[/lastfm] “F*** You”

Album Of The Year

• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Arcade Fire[/lastfm], The Suburbs
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Eminem[/lastfm], Recovery
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Antebellum[/lastfm], Need You Now
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lady Gaga[/lastfm], The Fame Monster
• [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Katy Perry[/lastfm], Teenage Dream

A big night for Gaga is indeed on tap, but will that include taking home the biggest award? There’s no shortage of big names here, including a rejuvenated Eminem and then of course there are the little-hipsters-that-could in Arcade Fire.
Prediction: [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Eminem[/lastfm]
