Academy Award-winning composer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]John Barry[/lastfm] wrote the scores for many great films including Dances With Wolves, Out Of Africa and Born Free, but his everlasting legacy will most likely be the musical voice he gave to the James Bond films.  Beginning with Dr. No in 1962, Barry wrote for 12 Bond films, concluding with The Living Daylights in 1987.

Barry died in New York over the weekend of a heart attack at the age of 77.

Take a look as Barry conducts Goldfinger and the Bond Theme in 2001.
