As we prepare for the Grammys, our franchise “Road to the Grammys” takes a look back at the year leading up to the epic night. Come back often, we are going to relive the wild year of the big nominees.
The Grammys are upon us, and the Glee cast is ready to win. The team has acquired an array of recognition this year including two People’s Choice Award wins as well as three Golden Globes statues. Can you even get that much at regionals, New Directions?!
It’s been a huge year for Glee. What it is about the high school glee club that makes Gleeks go so crazy? Maybe it’s all the awesome guest performers like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gwyneth Paltrow[/lastfm]and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Neil Patrick Harris[/lastfm]. Maybe it’s the top 40 hits they cover in gleetastic flair. Maybe it’s the lovable Kurt Hummel!
Hummel is played by the breakout star, and Golden Globe winner, Chris Colfer. Throughout the episodes we have watched Kurt battle through bullying based on his sexual identity. After getting repeatedly pushed around and shoved into lockers, Kurt transferred schools and joins the New Directions toughest competition, the Warblers. There he meets kindred spirit Blaine and helps his new friend sing the romantic duet, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” in “A Very Glee Christmas.” So now we know Kurt has feelings for Blaine, but what will happen?! We’ll just have to wait to see what happens next when Glee returns with new episodes starting February 6th with a special Super Bowl episode after the game on FOX.Vodpod videos no longer available.
Ever wish you could just break into song and dance at any moment throughout the day? We know We do! Unfortunately, our boss feels like desks are for working not for dancing. However, there is Glee, and as GLEEKS we can live vicariously though New Directions. As a musical television series, Glee is without a doubt worthy of its two nominations for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards; Best Pop Performance by a Group With Vocals and Best Compilation Soundtrack Album.
Don’t forget to also watch the 53rd Grammy Awards on CBS, February 13th at 8pm ET/PT, to see if Glee will be singing their way to Grammy victory!
