Nelly’s been on a roll ever since he dropped the single “Just A Dream” now he wants history to repeat itself.

Despite being eight years since [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Nelly[/lastfm] dropped his hit single “Dilemma” featuring former [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Destiny’s Child[/lastfm] member [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kelly Rowland[/lastfm].

Nelly recently tweeted that he’s been working with Kelly again and his next single off 5.0 will be “Gone” featuring his former duet partner Kelly.

There is no question as to whether this song is a continuation to their last smash hit when the first lyrics are:

Remember that chick that use to live right up the block from me/
I seen her yesterday and she’s still fly

Much like it’s predecessor, “Gone” is the sort of love song that unfolds by explaining how you feel for someone else.

Basically, Nelly wants his girl to know that he’s irrieplacable.  Seriously, he’s Nelly, what would you expect?

Nelly’s lead single, “Just a Dream,” was also a love ballad, which went in an entirely different direction from the party anthems he’s best known for, hello, is it getting hot in here?

Despite the fact that it lacked scantily clad girls in the music video, the song turned out to be a brilliant choice for lead single, as it not only showed Nelly’s sensitive side, but also solidified him as the master of the love ballad.

  • Do you think it wass wise strategy to release two ballads back-to-back? Or do you miss the club banging hits from Nelly that made us love him the first place?
